At the turn of the century, Szeged served as the drawing board of a practitioner of Art Nouveau. His buildings to enliven the town and these are prominent sights of the city. It was a short decade for the dominance of the Art Nouveau in Szeged, nevertheless, almost half a hundred buildings grew up in the cityscape: apartment buildings, residences, even one or two sculptures as well, splendid interiors and others. http://moramuzeum.hu Móra Ferenc MuseumThe Móra Ferenc Museum lies at the heart of Szeged, at the intersection of the Tisza-riverbank and the Downtown Bridge, its reputable building is an important part of the cityscape. In addition to its permanent and constantly renewing seasonal exhibitions, significant research is being conducted within the walls of the cultural palace in the fields of Archeology, Ethnography, Historical and Natural Science. The Museum was founded in 1883 and the neoclassical building was opened in 1896. The institute was renamed in the honor of its former Director, Móra Ferenc in 1950. The cultural palace awaits its visitors with interesting exhibitions throughout the year. The Móra Ferenc Memorial Room represents the former Director not just as one of the more outstanding figures of national literature, but as an archeologist, researcher, and an individual as well. In addition to his personal items and furniture, visitors can see special photos in the exhibition room upstairs.
